At PRINT 09, fewer offset printing presses were exhibited, compared to past exhibitions.
However, Komori made the commitment to demonstrate three offset machines; the LSX40, the LSX29 and the Spica 529P.

Prior to the exhibition, Komori held a press conference in the evening of September 10 at the Renaissance Chicago Hotel, located near the Chicago river.
After Mr. Y. Komori, President and CEO of Komori Corporation made opening remarks including status of the Tsukuba Plant 3rd expansion and the Komori Graphic Technology Center, Mr. Kazuoyoshi “Kosh” Miyao, the President and COO of Komori America Corporation presented a brief overview of the market. Four of Komori America’s customers participated in a panel discussion, and discussed many of the issues facing commercial printers today. It was a lively and informative discussion.
Komori exhibited 3 presses including the 6-color LITHRONE SX40 with coater, 6-color LITHRONE SX29 with coater, 5-color SPICA29P. Special displays for the Web sales group, the Komori Chambon with a printing unit, the DoNet zone, KHS-AI zone and KomoriKare which is the service program of Komori America were also located in the booth.
At the DoNet zone, live CIP4/JDF workflow was shown with Hiflex MIS, Komori K-Station and all presses in the booth.
At the KHS-AI zone, we showed PDC-SII on the PQC and prototype of vertical adjustable scanning densitometer.
Please read a press release and visit our special web site for more details about exhibition theme and items.
The LITHRONE SX29 is Komori’s makeready machine and, as in years past, a one hour speed run was conducted each day to see how many jobs could be completed in an hour. At PRINT 09, we exceeded the record of GRAPH EXPO 08 by printing 11 jobs per hour. That means that one job including full changeover, register and color adjustment, and 200 sheets production run was completed in just over 5 minutes!
The LITHRONE SX40 demonstrated Komori’s new operating platform, KHS-AI. The demonstration also highlighted the flexibility, outstanding automation and high print quality of the LSX40 press.
The SPICA 29 is a compact and automated half size press and was shown in its newest five color format – providing even greater versatility with the ability to add a special color or varnish in the fifth unit.
CIP4 CIPPI Awards ceremony was held during PRINT 09 at McCormick Place. Komori International (the Netherlands) was awarded as a supporting company for Cloitre Imprimeurs which is a customer of Komori France. Cloitre Imprimeurs won the “Best Process Automation Implementation – Europe”. During the ceremony, Komori’s representative stepped up to the platform to receive the award.

Even though show attendance was low due to the very difficult economical circumstances, many guests from North America, Latin and South America, private guests from Japan, China and some other Asian countries visited Komori booth. We had many fruitful discussions with many customers and prospects from around the globe and look forward to success in the months to come. Thank you very much to our guests and partners!
